This type of document must be obtained by the hosting party in a local FMS office and then express-mailed to Bangladesh. The process of issuing a letter of invitation for private visa can take up to 30 days. A person who is a resident of the Russian Federation must file an application and include his/her income statement as well as a guarantee letter stating that he/she is willing to shoulder all expenses related to accommodation of the foreign person and guarantees that he/she agrees to be held accountable should that person be deported and/or violates the laws of the Russian Federation. An interview with an FMS officer will be an important step towards the positive outcome in the invitation letter issuance procedure.

A letter of invitation in support of business visa application can be sent by an organization officially accredited by the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia. It takes 1 day to process the application and issue the letter on a company’s official letterhead, on the government-approved form (may take up to 12-17 working days, issued upon a request from the organization handling the application) or via Telex (electronic invitation in form of a message sent directly from Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Embassy of the Russian Federation located in the country in which the request has been made).
In case the citizen of Bangladesh deals with either of the first two options, he/she must present the original letter of invitation. For the latter option, the applicant must give the Telex number when interviewed at the Embassy. Should the decision on the visa application come back positive, a business visa valid for a period varying from 1 day to 1 year will be granted.

In order to obtain a work visa for seeking employment or becoming employed on the territory of Russia, a national of Bangladesh should contact the Russian Consulate in the country concerned with the package of documents that must include an invitation letter and a work permit allowing him/her to work in the Russian Federation.

Upon arrival, the foreign employee must notify the FMS (Russian immigration authorities) and extend his/her visa for the whole period of his/her work permit validity period.

Members of the foreign worker’s family are also allowed to enter Russia with his/her Russian visa in hand. In that case, the document will state that one or more persons, who are related to the holder, will accompany him/her during his/her stay in Russia. The process of obtaining this type of visa can take up to 1.5 months.

An e-visa can be only single-entry. The permitted stay in Russia on an e-visa is up to 8 days from the date of entry within its validity period.
The validity period and/ or permitted stay on an e-visa cannot be extended. To obtain an e-visa a foreign citizen needs a digital passport photo and a completed application form containing full and valid data at the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
