The rapidly developing Novosibirsk for its relatively short history has earned a reputation not only as an intellectual, but as a cultural center of Siberia. The largest Novosibirsk theaters, which have absorbed the world achievements, the traditions of the Russian drama school and at the same time have formed their own specific, individual style, are not only the pride of the city, but of the whole country.
The first Novosibirsk theater is the summer theater "Alhambra". Its construction began in 1905 in the city garden, also called “Alhambra” and located at the intersection of Narymskaya and Sibirskaya streets. The first performances, in 1906, were specially timed to the 20th anniversary of the death of the great playwright A. N. Ostrovsky. The most famous is the Opera and Ballet Theater (Russia's largest theater building), which has become one of the symbols of Novosibirsk.

2. Novosibirsk Drama Theater "Red Torch"

3. Novosibirsk Drama Theater "Old House"
In the 1930s, a branch of the Red Torch Theater was created - the Old House Drama Theater. Initially, it was a mobile theater, "traveled" the entire Novosibirsk region. Today “Old House”, which has been stationary for almost half a century, is known in many Russian cities and even abroad due to its active touring life.

4. Novosibirsk State Philharmonic

For more than 25 years of history in the theater, more than 100 performances were staged, which brought the theater a reputation of a “favorite of the city intelligentsia”. The highest theatrical prize of Novosibirsk “Paradise” of the Novosibirsk branch of STD RF in the nomination “The best performance of the season” was presented to the theater 12 times, more than to any other. The creative successes of the Novosibirsk City Drama Theater are noted both in Russia and abroad. 6. Novosibirsk Regional Puppet Theater
The history of the Novosibirsk Regional Puppet Theater began in 1933, when the puppeteers' studio was opened at the Theater for Young People. 7. Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theater "Globus"
Another theater, which has become not just a favorite place for leisure, but a necessary component of the life of the most diverse generations of Novosibirsk, is the Globus Theater. The institution was founded in 1930 as a theater for young spectators. Since its inception, it has been performing not only fairy tales for kids, but also plays for high school students and an adult audience. In 1993, the theater was given the symbolic name "Globus", reflecting its creative concept: to cover all sorts of artistic styles, schools and directions. 8. Novosibirsk City Drama Theater "On the Left Bank"
The drama theater, which bears the name "On the left bank", is the only theater group that grew out of a drama group into an independent theatrical organization. The theater is located on the left bank of the Ob River, the city of Novosibirsk, hence the name. In 1958, the director Joanidi decided to put on the basis of the drama club a play "Romeo and Juliet". 9. Novosibirsk Theater of Musical Comedy

One of the youngest Novosibirsk theaters, the First Theater, is an interesting phenomenon in the cultural environment of the city. Founded in 2008, the studio theater united talented novice actors - graduates of the Novosibirsk State Theater Institute. The main principle of the creative activity of the team was experiment. Bold ideas, original literary material, non-standard stage embodiment allow the First Theater to stand out among the eminent competitors. Novosibirsk Classic Theater
Novosibirsk Classical Theater, as well as the First Theater, was born in the current century. Its creator was the actor and director Sergei Dubrovin, who formed a multi-faceted creative team of professional artists. The Novosibirsk Classic Theater was founded by a group of actors, opened for the audience with a play by V. Krasnogorov’s play “Everyone has his own star”, - October 19, 2007, on the Lyceum Pushkin Day.
The Latin word "classicus" in translation means "exemplary". The title of the “classical” is based on the main principle by which the theater is guided in its work, namely, to be a model of deep, moral ethics.
