A tourist visa invitation should contain information about the company (its legal name, reference number and registered address) and information about the citizen of Guinea-Bissau, the route of his/her journey, the dates of arrival and departure and the number of visits he/she requests.

As employees of travel agencies do not conduct any checks when issuing visa invitations, this document's presence itself cannot serve as a guarantee that the visa will be issued. In addition to the standard set of documents, a health insurance policy, a hotel booking confirmation, flight tickets and other documents may be requested.

Russian Private (Visitor) Visa Requirements for Citizens of Guinea-Bissau

Citizen of Guinea-Bissau who want to come to Russia to visit their relatives, or at the invitation of a friend, must apply for a visitor visa and submit the appropriate documents, including a visa invitation. Both natural persons and legal entities residing in Russia can arrange invitations to foreign citizens, including Guinea-Bissau nationals.

To execute this document, the individual who wishes to invite a foreigner to visit Russia should apply at the local FMS office. He/she will be required to present a number of documents, including a copy of the applicant's national passport, a copy of the invited person's travel passport, the applicant's certificate of income, a receipt confirming the payment of state fee and a letter of guarantee. The inviting party shall state in the letter of guarantee that he/she will support the visitor in every way during the entire period the visitor will be staying at his/her place.

The responsibility to ensure the visitor will not violate the visa rules rests with the person who invites him/her. Should any violations emerge, the deportation expenses will be borne by the host. Guinea-Bissau is in the list of the so-called “high migration risk countries”. De to this, any person who invites a citizen of this country to visit Russia will be interviewed at the FMS office. Application for a visitor visa invitation normally takes up to 30 days to process. 

Legal entities also have the right to arrange private visa invitations. For that, the official person must file an application and submit the required documents at the local FMS office. In this case, the average processing time will be around 17 working days from the time the application is lodged.

Private visa invitations are issued on the official forms. Under certain circumstances, the application may be refused. In the letter of refusal the reasons for rejection must be spelt out.

Russian visitor visas can be obtained by minor foreign citizens, as well as adults. It is not mandatory for their parents to accompany them on their trip. The maximum length of stay for visitor visa holders is 90 days. Visitor visas can be single- or double-entry.

A limited number of companies that are authorized by the Russian authorities are entitled to issue business invitations on their letterheads. Business visa invitation letters typically contain a request to issue a business visa to a foreign citizen. To arrange an invitation issued on the standard FMS form the foreign applicant should have the inviting company's representative apply at a local FMS office and request this document. The citizen of Guinea-Bissau will be checked to determine whether he/she has any unpaid fines or a past record of deportation from Russia. If no violations are discovered, a business visa invitation will be issued. The Telex invitation execution procedure involves sending an electronic message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Russian Consulate via special communication channel. Every application shall be assigned with a unique number. The inviting party should give the number to the foreign applicant, with that number the applicant can go straight to the Russian Embassy.

Russian Work Visa Requirements for Citizens of Guinea-Bissau

Work visas allow its holders to stay in Russia for as long as 1 year. To apply for this type of visa, you need to find an employer. The Russian employer who is willing to offer you a job must have a special permit to legally hire foreign nationals.

Russian Electronic Visa from Guinea-Bissau

An electronic visa (hereinafter referred to as "e-visa") is a new type of a visa document. A visa invitation to Russia is not required for obtaining an e-visa. To obtain an e-visa to Russia use our “E-visa to Russia” service.

An e-visa can be only single-entry. The permitted stay in Russia on an e-visa is up to 8 days from the date of entry within its validity period.

The validity period and/ or permitted stay on an e-visa cannot be extended. To obtain an e-visa a foreign citizen needs a digital passport photo and a completed application form containing full and valid data at the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
