Russian Tourist Visa Requirements for Citizens of Yemen

For those Yemeni nationals who plan to stay in Russia for tourism purposes need to follow a special procedure of obtaining an entry visa. This document takes an hour to make.

Any travel company licensed by the Federal Register of Tour Operators of Russia (having a unique reference number) Is entitled to offer the service of arranging visa invitation letters. No particular design template exists for visa invitations, this is why each travel agency prints them on their letterheads and the design of each letter is different.

Tourist visa support letters consist of two parts — a tourist voucher and a tourist confirmation. This document must include the company's registration information and the invited person's details, including his/her itinerary, travel dates and the number of entries he/she requests.

Travel company is not authorized to conduct any checks, this is why having a visa invitation prepared doesn't mean the visa will be granted. When applying for a tourist visa, we advice foreign citizens to have flight tickets, confirmation of accommodation and medical insurance policy in hand. Additional documents may be requested in some cases.

Citizens of Yemen are eligible for tourist visas valid for 30 days or less. Tourist visas can be single- or double-entry.

Russian Private (Visitor) Visa Requirements for Citizens of Yemen

Citizens of Yemen who plan to come to Russia for personal reasons need to obtain a private visa prior to their entry into the country. In addition to other documents, the private visa application procedure requires applicants to prepare a special type of invitation. This document can be arranged by any person who is a resident of Russia or a legal entity registered in Russia.

To obtain an official letter of invitation, Russian residents should apply at the local office of the Federal Migration Service (FMS). A standard set of documents must be enclosed to the application: a copy of the applicant's national passport, a copy of the foreign citizen's international passport, the applicant's income certificate and a letter of guarantee written and signed by the applicant. The letter of guarantee must clearly state that the inviting person (host) undertakes to provide accommodation for the visitor and ensure he/she enjoys a comfortable stay.

Please note! We do not recommend using a private visa!

Any Russian resident who invites a foreigner to visit Russia will be held responsible should he/she overstays his/her visa. The inviting person will be obligated to cover all expenses should the visitor be subject to deportation. Since Yemen is on the list of high-risk countries, according to the Russian immigration authorities, any person who invites a citizen of that country must appear for an interview with an FMS official. The FMS will review the documents within 30 days from the date of lodging the application.

Legal entities also have the right to arrange private visa invitation letters for the foreign individuals who want to visit Russia. In this case, the application will be considered within the 17 working days time frame.

Visitor visa invitation letters are issued on special highly protected forms. Applications from those applicants who have previously violated Russian immigration laws will be denied with a written statement indicating the reasons. Visitor visa is the only type of visa that can be granted to minors, as well as adults. Holding a visitor visa, any child can enter into Russia unaccompanied.

Visitor visas are issued for a period not exceeding 90 days. They can be single- or double-entry.

The business visa invitation letter can be obtained by either of these ways:

Only those companies that are authorized by the Russian authorities to make invitations for foreign citizens are entitled to do so. This type of business visa invitation is essentially a written formal letter urging the Russian Embassy to grant a business visa to the foreign citizen. To prepare an FMS-issued invitation letter, a relevant application must be lodged at the FMS. This type of invitation shall be given if the foreign person successfully passes the check to reveal if he/she has any unpaid fines or past records of deportation. Telex invitation is the most convenient way to arrange a business visa invitation. Telex invitations are essentially electronic orders sent by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Russian Embassy abroad instructing its employees to grant a business visa to the applicant. The applicant will have to indicate the Telex number at the Embassy, no paperwork is needed for such a procedure.

The employer must possess a valid permit to employ foreign workers. If this requirement is met, it is the employer's responsibility to receive a permit for the potential employee and then arrange an invitation to support his/her visa application.

This type of visa allows its holders to stay in the territory of the Russian Federation during a one-year period (for highly skilled workers, the validity period is 3 years). No limit is set for the number of times a person holding a valid Russian work visa can enter and exit the country.
