This guided tour (includes transfer by private car or bus) will take you to the largest museum of Russian art in the world. The main exposition of the Russian museum occupies five buildings: the Mikhailovsky Palace, Mikhailovsky (Engineering) Castle, The Marble Palace, the Stroganov Palace, the Summer Garden, the Mikhailovsky garden and the House of Peter I (please choose one for a visit). A large part of the exhibition are works by Russian artists from the collection of the Hermitage Academy Arts and suburban imperial palaces, as well as those purchased from private collections. After the 1917 revolution the museum's collection considerably enlarged due to the nationalization of private collections and it counts more than 400 000 items of art that illustrates the development of Russian art from the beginning of the 11th century to the present day. The museum houses a large collection of paintings, graphics, sculptures, paintings and articles of Russian arts and crafts.
