Sanitary day: First Friday of month
Located in the closeness to Red Square the State Museum of History of GULAG offers a memorable tour to the grim times of Stalin's rule, so brilliantry described in the works of Solzhenitsyn. The museum exposition occupies 600 sq.meters and stores a collection of paintings, sculptures, the reconstruction of the fragments of the camp with wax figures and videos, as well as numerous archival documents, evidence of repression of the progressive intelligentsia of the Soviet and Eastern Europe in the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. A one hour tour to the museum will give you a chance to experience what it was like to be repressed and exiled to GULAG leaving behind the family and loved ones.
