Russian private (homestay) visa for Singaporean citizens
If Singaporean citizen wants to visit Russian Federation for the private reason, he will need a private visa. But he needs to obtain a homestay invitation before he will contact an embassy. An invitation should be issued and sent by inviting party living in Russia. In this case it can be a legal entity or an individual.
Legal entity must issue a homestay invitation through the Federal migration service. In order to do that they need to submit a tourist invitation application. It takes 17 work days to consider such application.

An individual can obtain a homestay invitation letter to Russia for the foreigner by contacting a FMS section and submitting an appropriate application and a list of documents. Among them must be a guarantee letter. Guarantee letter is a document, in which a person, who invited a foreigner to Russia, commits to provide him everything necessary (accommodation, medical care, livelihood) for the whole period of foreigner’s stay in Russia. The consideration of such application takes 30 days.
After the end of the statutory period of the consideration of an application, there can be positive or negative solution Negative solution is a refusal of the issuance, which is given in written form, herewith the reasons must be listed. If the solution is positive, homestay invitation issues on the state sample letterhead.
Private visas can be issued for homestay invitation possessors for up to 90 days. Private visas are for single or double entries.

An electronic visa (hereinafter referred to as "e-visa") is a new type of a visa document. A visa invitation to Russia is not required for obtaining an e-visa. To obtain an e-visa to Russia use our “E-visa to Russia” service.
An e-visa can be only single-entry. The permitted stay in Russia on an e-visa is up to 8 days from the date of entry within its validity period.
