Contact any local travel company registered in the Federal Register of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation to obtain your invitation. The company must be in possession of an individual reference number. Russian law does not regulate the appearance of invitations for tourist visas, this is why every tourist services provider can issue these documents on their official letterheads.

A properly executed tourist visa invitation consists of two parts: a tourist voucher and a confirmation of acceptance. It must also include the information regarding the travel company (its legal name, reference number and address) and the details concerning the Angolan person, along with his/her travel route, dates and the number of entries requested.

Travel companies are not authorized to carry out any checks, this is why the fact that an invitation for a tourist visa is issued does not guarantee the visa will be granted. When applying for their tourist visa, you may be asked to provide your flight tickets, health insurance and hotel booking confirmation.

Tourist visas are valid for up to 30 days. This type of visa can be single- or double-entry.

The person who invites a foreigner to come to Russia is responsible for his/her actions. That includes ensuring that the guest will leave the country within his/her visa validity period. Should the visitor's visa expire before he/she departs, the host will be obligated to pay full deportation costs. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers Angola to be a high travel risk country, this is why any person inviting an Angolan citizen to visit Russia will have to attend an interview at the FMS. The application is normally processed within 30 days.

It is also possible for legal entities that are officially registered in Russia to arrange and send invitations for private visas. For that, the company's representative will have to apply at the FMS and attach the necessary documents. The visitor visa application procedure can take up to 17 days to clear.

This type of invitation is issued on a special highly protected form. Please note, the application may be refused. In that case, the applicant will receive a letter of refusal stating the reason for refusal in writing. Children and teenagers can also travel to Russia holding a visitor visa. Being accompanied by adults is not a requirement in that case.

This type of visa is issued for a period not exceeding 90 days. Visitor visas can be single-entry of double-entry.
