Circum-Baikal Railway tour
Transfer from the hotel to the train station. The Circum-Baikal train departs from the Irkutsk railway station and arrives at the Sludyanka village. That’s where the program of the Circum-Baikal tour starts. The train will make stops at historically important villages on the way, which gives you a chance to walk around and take beautiful pictures of the monuments of engineering, architecture and nature.
The guide will take you through the longest tunnel on the railway and will show you the water pump towers that used to pump water for the steam train. You will have lunch at the Polovinnaya station served by a Babushka (an elderly Russian lady). In the evening the train arrives in Port Baikal. You’ll get on the ferry to cross Lake Baikal where the Angara River flows out. On the other side, in Listvyanka, you'll get on a bus to Irkutsk.
